Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join Strzelecki Showtime?
Our cast is open to members of Scouts Victoria, who are active members of their local Cub, Scout, Venturer or Rover unit and aged 10 or over by the 14th of June 2024. Priority will be given to applicants who are under 26 years of age.
Our backstage crew is open to members of Scouts Victoria from the age of 14. Non members aged 18 and over are also welcome, so long as they're willing to become a adult support member of Scouts Victoria.
I'm don't have any experience dancing/acting/singing. Can I still join?
Absolutely! Showtime is all about trying new things, working together and making heaps of new friends. It doesn't matter what your skill level is - we would love to have you join us in 2024.
What happens at auditions?
You'll get to hear all about our 2024 production "Midnight's Wish", we'll teach you a few of the songs from the show and you'll have a sing as a part of a group (so no solo singing required!). You'll then learn some dance moves, and read a part of our script, and get measured by our friendly costume team.
And while we call it an audition, it's really an opportunity for us to get to know you and for you to get to know us. Everybody aged under 26 who applies for cast gets in!
How much does it cost?
$65 for our new-to-cast members and $55 for our returning cast. This helps cover the cost of your costume, administration, venue hire, insurances, formal dinner between our two Saturday performances, first aid, and much much more. For our new cast members it also includes your Strzelecki Showtime scarf, woggle and badge that you'll receive at our special presentation day in August.
To keep our cast fees low, Strzelecki Showtime fundraises through the Scout Monster Raffle, a trivia night and a sock fundraiser, which cast are expected to participate in.
What is the rehearsal and performance schedule?
You can find our cast schedule detailing our rehearsal and performance dates here. All rehearsals and performances from the 5th of October are compulsory.
Where are performances and rehearsals held?
